Mountain Retreat

We designed this mountain retreat near Serra do Rola-Moça State Park, on the edge of a small village outside Belo Horizonte, Brazil, as a place for living, working, and recreation immersed in nature. The project is based on a strict modular system that optimizes construction using sustainably sourced timber.

A vast roof spanning 63 meters unifies the different programmatic elements, creating generous covered outdoor circulation and framed views of the surrounding landscape. Positioned at the threshold between village and wilderness, the building opens itself to the dramatic terrain, allowing daily life to unfold in close relationship with the mountains.

The project is currently under construction and will be completed in the course of 2026.
