Interior Design Coordinator

We seeks one full-time Interior Design Coordinator for our architecture firm to work at our office in Berkeley, CA. Candidate must have at least a Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design or Architecture, with 12 months of prior work experience as Interior Designer or Architectural Designer. Domestic and international travel required. International travel to Brazil 1-2 times per year to do site inspections and attend internal meetings, with each trip lasting from 7 to 10 days. Domestic travel to different cities in California 3-6 times per year to attend clients’ meetings, and perform inspections with each trip lasting from 1 to 3 days.

Candidate duties will include:

  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, material manufacturers, contractors, and engineers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Utilize computer-aided drafting (CAD), Maxwell, and related visualization software to produce presentations and permit documents for clients.
  • Research and explore the incorporation of new building materials and construction methods into designs.
  • Ensure that plans are compliant with California Building Codes and the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and are designed to be safe.
  • Advise clients on interior design approaches, including space planning, furniture layout, material selection, and color coordination.
  • Create and render 3D models with rendering engines and post-production software to visualize design ideas.
  • Estimate material and construction costs and present interior design plans to clients for approval.
  • Design spaces to be environmentally friendly and healthy, incorporating sustainable and locally manufactured materials when possible.

Candiate must have LEED Green Associate License, and with 12 months of experience using Autodesk AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, V-Ray Render, Maxwell Render, Adobe Systems, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. Salary from: $103,834 to 106,834/year.
